What is Deuces Wild?

Warrior Affiliate League in association with BANG ENERGY DRINKS presents: “Deuces Wild” 2-person team competition!

Deuces Wild is a 2-person (MM, FF, or MF) functional fitness team competition for athletes of all skill levels across 5 divisions.

Our FUN division is designed for the new competitor in mind, to get your feet wet and test your abilities in a stress-free manner. This event makes for a great first competition for those new to CF and Functional Fitness.

Our FRIENDLY division is to invite families to participate as a team. Weight load and movement modifications will be made for all to participate and have a good time. For the veteran CFers, our events will test your skills in a fun and challenging way!

Entry fee covers: Team entry fee for 2 persons, 3 workouts, with 7 separate scored events, (2) exclusive athlete event shirts*, team name plate*, sponsor goodies at check-in, access to a huge vendor village, and an opportunity to prove your fitness in front of family, friends, and the largest crowds in Southern California with ultimate prize packs for podium winners! [No prizes will be awarded to the FRIENDLY division. Limited prize pack awarded to Women’s FUN division]

TO REGISTER:

One person registers and pays for the team (team captain). Have team members’ names, emails, shirt sizes, birthdates, etc. available when registering. Register your team prior to MAR 29 to guarentee event shirt/tank and team name plate.

Don’t know which division to sign up for? No problem. Changes can be made until 15 Days prior to event. Athlete substitutions can be made by emailing us 1) Team Name/Gym Affiliate 2) Team Division 3) Name of Athlete to remove 4) Name of replacement athlete 5) email of replacement athlete.

REFUND POLICY:

THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS TO FUTURE EVENTS. NO EXCEPTIONS. There will be no shirt size/type changes after final order date. Athlete substitution up until the day of event by having your substitute athlete sign your team waiver on event day.

5 Divisions

MEN (MM): Men Intermediate
WOMEN (FF): Women Intermediate, Women FUN
MIXED PAIRS (MF) – Combination of heavier weight than intermediate division, with complex gymnastics movements
FRIENDLY Division (Any Age/Gender combo)

Mixed Pairs: This division is our most advanced division with heavier weight loads as compared to intermediate division, with advanced gymnastics movements. At least one athlete must be able to perform the following gymnastics movements but not limited to: Bar Muscle up, Chest 2 bar pull ups, Handstand push-ups, Handstand walks, rope climbs, double-unders.  Mixed Pairs athletes must be able to lift the following Snatch/Thruster 135/105 lbs., C+J 185/135 lbs., Deadlift 275/185 lbs.

Our FRIENDLY division is designed for friends and family to compete together in an organized event. Teams may consist of athletes of any age and/or any gender. We encourage Dads and Moms to compete with your sons/daughters. Athletes in the FRIENDLY division may scale movements and/or weight loads to accommodate abilities.

Workouts

TEST 1 - SIN CITY I

With an 8-minute running clock:

PART A (Event 1) – 10 Rounds for time of:

Russian Kettlebell Swings + 4 Alternating Lunges

Kettlebell load:
MIXED PAIRS/M INT 53#, W INT 35#, FUN 26#, FRIENDLY Athlete Choice

PART B (Event 2) – With remaining time, AMRAP of:

30 POWER CLEANS
30 TOES 2 BAR
30 FRONT SQUATS
30 BURPEE BOX JUMP OVERS M 24”, MIX/F 20”
30 SHOULDER TO OVERHEAD
30 DEADLIFT

Barbell load:
M INT 125#, MIXED PAIRS 105#, W INT 65#, FUN 55#

– 2 minute rest, then perform TEST 2 –

Workout Description: 

(PART A)
On 3-2-1…Go! Athlete 1 will enter GRID and perform couplet of: 4 Russian KB swings + 4 alternating lunges, this will continue for 10 rounds. Athletes may switch at any time. Alternating jumping lunges will also be accepted.

Score: Time to complete 10 rounds.

Once Part A is completed, team will immediate perform:

(PART B)
30 PC, 30 T2B, 30 FS, 30 Burpee BJO, 30 S2OH (Press or Jerk will be accepted), and then 30 DL. If time remains, continue back to 30 PC and so on until time cap has expired. Only one athlete may work at one time. Athletes may switch at any point during the workout.

Score: Total repetitions accumulated.

Time Cap: (Part A and Part B) 8 minutes. 

Test 2 will be performed following Test 1, after 2 minutes rest.

TEST 2 - SIN CITY II

After 2-minute rest following TEST 1, team will perform TEST 2

AMRAP in 2 minutes (Event 3)

Handstand Push Ups

(FUN-HR push-ups)

Workout Description:

Team will perform Max HSPU for 2 minutes. FUN division will perform hand-release push-ups. 1 Ab Mat will be provided to MIXED PAIRS & M INT division, 2 Ab Mats will be provided for W INT division. Kipping and strict HSPU will be accepted.

Score: Total reps accumulated.

Time Cap: 2 minutes.

TEST 3 – WHIPS AND CHAINS

AMRAP in 6 minutes (Events 4 & 5)

PART A – CAL Bike
PART B – 40FT Sled Rope Pull

Workout Description:
Part A and Part B will be performed simultaneously. On 3-2-1…Go! A1 will perform CAL Bike, while A2 performs sled rope pull. Athletes may switch at any time. This will continue until the time cap is reached.

Test 3 has 2 separate scores:
(1) Total Calories accumulated
(2) Total Sled rope pull reps

Time cap: 6 minutes.

TEST 4 – DOUBLE TROUBLE

8 synchro bar facing burpees
10 Partner DL

Workout Description:
On 3-2-1…Go! Team will perform 12 partner DL. Then, 8 synchronized bar facing burpees. Then, team will add appropriate plates to increase barbell load, then perform 10 partner DL at a heavier weight load, followed by 8 synchro bar facing burpees. Then, team will add appropriate plates to increase barbell load, then perform 8 partner DL at a heavier weight load, followed by 8 synchro bar facing burpees. Then, add appropriate bumpers to barbell, then perform 6 partner DL at a heavier weight load. Once 6 Partner DL are completed, team will race to the finish line where time will be recorded.

Score: Time to finish workout

Time cap: 4 minutes.
