What is Three Amigos?

SignsRx, in association with RockTape, presents the “Three Amigos”, 3-person teams of same gender (3 Men or 3 Women), functional fitness team competition across 5 divisions, for athletes of all skill levels.

AUG 8-12: $225 per Team ($75pp +processing fee*)

AUG 13-31: $240 per Team ($80pp +processing fee*)

One person registers and pays for the team (team captain). Have team members’ names, emails, shirt sizes, birthdates, etc. available when registering.

Workouts

WORKOUT 1 (E1 & E2) - THE GREAT CORNJULIO

Perform as many repetitions as possible in 8 minutes:

E1. Part A. Max CAL Row
E2. Part B. Buy-in: 3 wreck bag thrusters, then perform cornhole to target

*Penalty – 3 wreck thruster for every bean bag miss of target

Wreck Bag: M ADV 75#, M INT/ W ADV 50#, W INT/ FUN 35#

Workout Description:

On 3-2-1…Go! A1 will begin on Rower performing max calories, while A2 perform 3 sandbag thruster buy-in, prior to bean bag throw attempts at cornhole platform. Each team will be given 4 bean bags per station. Each athlete must complete (4) attempts before tagging-in teammate. For every bean bag miss of target or touch of ground (half on platform/ half touching floor), A2 must perform 3 wreck bag thruster penalty will be assessed for every miss (i.e. 2 missed = 6 wreck bag thrusters), prior to tagging in A3. A3 must then perform 3 sandbag thruster buy-in, prior to retrieving team bean bags, then performs 4 bean bag cornhole throws. This pattern will continue for 8 minutes. Athletes may switch at the rower throughout the workout at any time except during bean bag throws.

Point System:

3 points will be awarded with every bean bag that goes into hole. 1 point will be awarded with any bean bag that  lands on platform without touching ground. Point value is determined on initial contact. No additional/zero points will be awarded to any bean bag already on the platform that is pushed into the hole by a secondary bean bag. This event has 2 separate scores: (E1) Max effort Calories Rower, and (E2) max cornhole point accumulated as a team. Time cap: 8 minutes.

WORKOUT 2 (E3) - MONTEZUMA'S REVENGE

Barbell Up ladder of 1 Squat Clean

MEN: 95, 115, 135, 155, 185, 205, 235, 255, 275 lbs.
WOMEN: 65, 75, 85, 95, 105, 115, 125, 145, 165, 185 lbs.

Workout Description:

On 3-2-1..Go! Team will step up to station 1. Each team member will perform 1 Squat Clean at a specific station with a preset barbell. Team will have 1 minute for all athletes to complete a lift at each station. Each successful lift is the buy-in to proceed to the next station.  This pattern will continue as long as 1 athlete of the team completes a successful lift. If a team mate is unable to perform a successful lift, that athlete may then perform deadlifts of that same barbell until time cap. 1 Clean + 1 Front Squat will also be acceptable. Men will have 9 separate pre-loaded barbells, while women will have 10 separate pre-loaded barbells.

Score is sum of the heaviest successful lift of each athlete (A1+A2+A3).

TIE BREAKER: Max Reps Deadlifts accumulated by team.

FLOATER (E4/E5/E6/E7) - MEXICAN FIRE DRILL

Perform as many reps as possible in 5 minutes of each of the following:

E4. Max CALORIES Bike (A1)

E5. Max CALORIES Ski Erg (A2)

E6. Max heavy DBall over Yoke (A3)

E7. 1 minute AMRAP – Yoke Jumping Bar Muscle Ups

Heavy DBall: M ADV 125#, M INT 100#, W ADV 80#, W INT 50#, W FUN 40#

Workout Description:

On 3-2-1..Go! Athletes will perform E4-E5-E6 simultaneously, and will have a maximum time of 5 minutes to accumulate as many reps as possible. A1 will perform Bike. A2 will perform Ski Erg. Athlete 3 will perform dball cleans over the yoke. Athletes may switch apparatuses at any time. Once 5 minute AMRAP is completed, the team will have a 1 minute transition to recover. After the 1 minute transition period elapses, team will then perform 1 minute of as many reps as possible of jumping bar muscle ups on the yoke.

Floater will have 4 separate scores of:

(1) E4 – Total Calorie Bike
(2) E5 – Total Calorie Ski Erg
(3) E6 – Total DBall over yoke
(4) E7 – Total yoke jumping Muscle ups
