What is Beasts & Barbellas?

Bang Energy Drinks, in association with Signs Rx, presents the

“Three Amigos”, 3-person teams of same gender (3 Men or 3 Women), functional fitness team competition across 5 divisions, for athletes of all skill levels.

Whether your are new to CF, or a veteran competitor, this event is for YOU!  Don’t miss your chance to compete in this outdoor 3-person team event!  Grab 2 friends and build your power team.

Entry fee covers: Team entry fee for 2 persons, (2) Event T-shirts, (1) Team Name Plate, 5+ scored workouts, and lots of FUN with the fitness community.

NOTE: Teams who register prior to 8/31, will be guaranteed (3) exclusive event tank tops and (1) team name plate. Event tanks and team name plates will be subject to availability with team registrations confirmed after deadline.

One person registers and pays for the team (team captain). Have team members’ names, emails, shirt sizes, birthdates, etc. available when registering.

REFUND POLICY:

THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS TO FUTURE EVENTS. NO EXCEPTIONS. Athlete substitution accepted up until event day, by having your new athlete sign your team waiver prior to start of event.

TEST 1 - ANGRY BIRDS - EVENTS 1, 2

– 1 MINUTE TRANSITION BEFORE TEST 3 –

Workout Description:
TEST 1, PART A – On 3-2-1…Go! Team will approach worm. (2) athletes (A1+A2) will perform partner 15 Worm Clean & Jerk, while 3rd athlete (A3) rests. Athletes may tag out at any time. Once 15 Worm C+J are completed, team [A1+A2 worm, while A3 waits to be tagged in] will perform 30 partner worm squats. Once 30 partner squats are completed, A1 will perform Toes 2 Bar, while A2+A3 waits (at a designated area) to be tagged in. Once 30 T2B [FUN- hanging knee ups] are completed, time will be recorded. Then team will wait a mandatory 1 minute rest, prior to starting PART B. Only (1) athlete may work at one time with gymnastic movements. Only (2) persons allowed to work with worm, while 3rd athlete waits at designated area.

TEST 1, PART B – During the 1 minute of rest, the athlete must return to their starting point behind the line. The athlete may not advance past this line for Part B until exactly 1 minute has passed.

After 1 minute of rest, the team will move to the worm to complete 30 partner worm shoulder to OH, then 15 partner worm squats, then to the pull-up bar to complete 15 bar muscle ups (ADV), 30 chin over bar pull-ups (INT), 30 Hanging knee ups (FUN), and back to the worm to the final round of 30 partner worm thrusters, and 30 Toes 2 Bar.

TEST 1 has (2) separate scores:
E1 time to complete Paet A, and
E2 total time it takes to complete the workout, including PART A+PART B, the 1 minute rest period, and the total number of repetitions completed before the 12-minute time cap. 1 second will be add to final score for every repetition not completed within time cap.

Workout Description:
After the competition of TEST 1, and the 1 minute transition… On 3-2-1… Go!! Team will perform max box jump overs in 3 minutes. Only (1) athlete may work at one time.

TEST 2 will have 1 score:
E3 – total successful repetitions performed by team in 3 minute cap.

Time cap: 3 minutes.

 

TEST 3 - BARBELL COMPLEX LADDER - Event 4

E4 – BARBELL COMPLEX LADDER

COMPLEX = 1 DEADLIFT + 1 CLEAN + 1 HANG CLEAN

MEN (ADV/INT) 95, 115, 135, 155, 185, 205, 225, 255, 275 lbs.

WOMEN (ADV/INT/FUN) 65, 75, 85, 95, 105, 115, 125, 145, 165, 185 lbs.

Workout Description:
On 3-2-1..Go! Team will approach preloaded barbell. A1 will attempt to. perform (1) barbell complex of one deadlift, then one clean (power or squat), and finally one hang clean (power or squat). The movements must be completed in one continuous sequence without rest or interruption. Then, A2 and A3 will follow with their lift attempt. Team may lift as many attempts as possible within the 1 minute time cap. Barbell complex must be completed within the allotted time cap for rep to count. No exceptions.

Each successful lift is a buy to advance to the next preloaded barbell. This process will continue as long as one athlete from the team completes a successful lift. If an athlete fails to make a successful complex lift, the athlete’s lift weight from the previous station will be recorded, and that athlete may not lift the next pre-set station. Score is sum of the heaviest successful lift of all three athletes (A1+A2+A3).

TEST 3 will have 1 score:
E4 – Total sum of all three athletes’ heaviest successful lift

FLOATER - EVENTS 5, 6

PART A E5 – MAX CALORIE SKI ERG

PART B E6 – MAX MEDBALL CARRY

MEDBALL – M ADV 125#, M INT 90#, W ADV 90#, W INT 70#, FUN 50#

Workout Description:
On 3-2-1..Go! A1 will begin at Ski Erg, at the same, A2 will carry heavy MedBall to a pre-determined distance and lift MedBall over yoke (Yoke height TBA on day of event). Then A2 will pick up MedBall and walk back to start line and place MedBall onto 30″ box. For the repetition to count, MedBall must go OVER THE YOKE and/or MedBall must be PLACED ONTO BOX. 1-point will be given for every repetition of MedBall over the yoke (1-point) , and every repetition of MedBall placed onto box (1-point), while A3 waits at start line to get tagged in. Only (1) athlete may work at one time. Athletes may switch at any time.

FLOATER will have 2 separate scores:
E5 – Total calories on Ski Erg
E6 – Total reps MedBall carry
