What is Gruesome Twosome?

Warrior Affiliate League in Association with SignsRX and GreyFit Fitness presents: “Gruesome Twosome” 2-person teams (MM/FF/MF), functional fitness team competition across 5 divisions, for athletes of all skill levels.

Our FUN division is designed for the new competitor in mind, to get your feet wet and test your abilities in a stress-free manner.  This event makes for a great first competition for those new to CF. For the veteran CFer, this event will test your skills in a FUN and challenging way!

TO REGISTER:

One person registers and pays for the team (team captain). Have team members’ names, emails, shirt sizes, birthdates, etc. available when registering. Register your team prior to OCT 15, 2020 to guarantee event shirt/tank and team name plate. Teams registered teams who register after 10/15, will not receive apparel nor team name plate.

Don’t know which division to sign up for? No problem. Written requests to info@warrioraffilaiteleagie.com, must be received 20 days prior to event for changes to division/team name.

WORKOUT 1: CAN'T DRIVE 55

Event 1: For Time

55 partner Deadlifts

Partner DL: M ADV 290#, M INT/MIX 260#, W INT 225#, FUN 175#

Event 2: Perform AMRAP with remaining time:

55 WB Shots

Event 3: Perform AMRAP for 2 minutes:

ADV/MIX – Bar Muscle-Ups
INT – Burpee Pull-ups
FUN – Burpee Jumping Pull-ups

Workout description:

On 3-2-1..Go! Both athletes will enter the grid and perform 55 partner deadlifts (DL) together (both athletes will pick up a pre-loaded barbell simultaneously as a unit). See video demo for details.

Then immediately, the team will perform as many repetitions as possible of quadruplet of 55 WB shots, 55 sumo deadlift high pulls (DLHP), 55 plate overhead (OH) alternating lunges, 55 plate ground to overhead (G2OH). Only one-athlete may work at one time. A1 may change weight loads specific to their division, as A2 performs WB shots. Athletes may switch at any time during the workout. 55 repetitions of each movement must be completed in order as described above, before moving on to the next movement. If team completes 55 plate G2OH before the 9 minute time cap, the team will recycle to the beginning of the quadruplet (WB shots) and perform as many reps as possible until time cap ends.

1 minute rest will be given prior to the start of E3. After the 1 minute rest given between E2 and E3, athletes will perform as many reps as possible in 2 minutes of gymnastics movement, as assigned to their specific division.

Workout Scoring: 

This workout has (3) separate scores: E1, E2, and E3.

E1 score will be the fastest time to complete the 55 partner deadlifts.

E2 score is the amount of repetitions completed as a team of quadruplet above.

E3 score is total reps of gymnastic movements performed in the 2 minute cap.

Time cap:

E1 + E2: 9 minutes
E3: 2 minutes

WORKOUT 2: DESERT STORM

Event 4: 6 Rounds For Time

Event 5: Perform AMRAP with remaining time:

Double-unders**
**Athletes must supply their own ropes

Workout description:

On 3-2-1..Go! A1 will enter grid, while A2 waits at the start line. Team will performs 12 sandbag front squats, then 9 sandbag hang cleans, then 6 sandbag push press, in that order. This will repeat for 6 rounds. Athletes may tag out at anytime throughout the workout. Once 6 rounds of the triplet is completed, athletes immediately perform as many double-under (FUN-singles) as possible with remaining time.

Workout Scoring:

This workout has 2 separate scores:
E4 – Fastest time to complete 6 rounds of triplet
E5 – Total double-unders accumulated as a team

8 minutes

WORKOUT 3: FLOATER

Event 7: Perform AMRAP with remaining time:

50-ft Sled Rope Pull*
*Weight loads will be announced on event day

Workout description:

On 3-2-1..Go! Both athletes will enter the grid and perform 35 box jump overs (BJO) for time.Only one athlete may work at a time. Athletes may teter tater back and forth over the box, see video demo for details. Athletes may jump over/clear box entirely without touching box. ADV/INT: Athletes must have 2-feet lift off jump from the floor onto box, hip extension is NOT required at the top of the box. Athletes may jump over/clear entire box without touching top of box. FUN division must have both feet touch top of box for rep to count, with step overs. Once the 35th BJO is completed, time will be taken. E6 score is the fastest time to complete 35 BJO as a team.

Then immediately, with remaining time, team will perform as many rounds as possible of 50-FT sled rope pull and push. A1 will pull rope attached to sled to designated spot, then push sled back to start position. This sequence will continue until time cap ends. Only one athlete may work at a time. Athletes may switch at any time during the workout.

Workout Scoring:

E6 score is the fastest time to complete 35 BJO as a team.

E7 score is total rounds of sled rope pull/push in allotted time.
