What is The BIG3?

The BIG3 is a 3-person, same gender (MMM or FFF), functional fitness team competition for athletes of all skill levels.

Get ready for the CF Open and test your strength and skills in our first competition of the 2021 season. This is a great event for those looking to do their first competition, yet challenging and FUN for the veteran competitor!

Grab 2 friends and build your power team. Limited spots per division. Register early, this event will sell out fast.

THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS TO FUTURE EVENTS. NO EXCEPTIONS. Athlete substitution up until the day of event by having your substitute athlete sign your team waiver on event day.

Friendly division is non-prize division of a 3-person team comprised of any gender/age combination. Friendly teams will perform same events but may use weight loads of their choice.

Events 1 & 2: ROPE-A-DOPE

Event 2: Perform AMRAP in 3 minutes:

14-FT Ascending Rope Climbs

– 10 minute rest period prior to Event 3 –

Workout description:

Event 1 – On 3-2-1…go! 2 athletes will enter the grid and perform the worm chipper of 50 DL, then 40 thrusters, then 30 burpee over worm, then 20 clean and jerks. Athletes may exchange at any time. Worm loads TBA. Score is the time to finish the task. Time cap: 9 minutes.
Event 2 – Team will be given a 1 minute transition at the completion of the 9 minute cap in event 1. Then, team will perform max 14FT ascending rope climbs for 3 minutes. Only 1 athlete may work at one-time. Athletes may tag out at any time. Score is max repetition rope climbs in allotted time. Time cap: 3 minutes.

Workout Scoring: 

This workout has (2) separate scores:

Event 1 score will be the time to complete the chipper.

Event 2 score is the total amount of rope climb ascents completed as a team.

Workout description:

Teams will be given a 10 minute rest/transition period at the end of workout 1 (E1-E2) and prior to the start of workout 2 (E3). On 3-2-1..go! Team will enter the GRID, A1 will perform axle bar complex. A2 and A3 will follow. Team will have 1 minute at each pre-loaded station. Athlete will advance the next station with each successful lift. If an athlete fails a lift, deadlifts may be performed for tie breaker.

Workout Scoring:

Score is the sum of heaviest successful lift of each athlete (A1+A2+A3).

Workout description:

With a 6 minute running clock, teams will perform in any order (3) separate lifts. No two athletes may perform the same lift, thus each athlete must perform a different lift from other teammates. Each athlete will have up to 5 attempts per lift. Teammates may help change weight load to barbell. Each station will be equipped with the following: (1) Men’s 20kg barbell, (1) women’s 15kg barbell, Bumper Plates: (2)55#, (4)45#, (2)35#, (2)25#, (2)15#, (2)10#, (2)5#, (2)2.5#, (2) barbell clips.  Barbell clips are required on barbell for lift to be accepted. If an athlete perform a lift without barbell clips, no matter the weight load, this will result in a NO REP. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Workout Scoring:

This workout has 3 separate scores:
E3 – Load of 5RM Deadlift (Athlete 1)
E4 – Load of 3RM Thruster (Athlete 2)
E5 – Load of 1RM Snatch (Athlete 3)
