WHAT?

CrossFit Whittier in association with Warrior Affiliate League Proudly Presents our 3rd Annual Battle Royale!

Battle Royale 2019 promises to bring some of the best athletes together along with those that want to have fun competing alongside like minded individuals. Last year we had a blast pushing our fitness limits and enjoying some fantastic vendors. This year we are promising a bigger and better event with more teams, more vendors and more fun

Battle Royale celebrates all fitness levels with 6 different divisions comprised of 2-person teams:

“DOUBLE STANDARD”

For time (8min cap)

WORKOUT DESCRIPTION: On 3-2-1..Go! Both athletes will enter grid and perform 15 clean + jerks. Only one athlete can work at one time. Athletes may switch at any time. Once 15 C+J are completed, team will then perform 15 snatches. After 15 snatches are completed, team will then perform 2 rope climbs as a team. No minimum work required per athlete. This pattern will then repeat with 12 C+J, then 12 snatches, followed by 2 rope climbs, and the 9 C+J, then 9 snatches, then 2 rope climbs. Once final 2 rope climbs are completed team must run to the finish line. Once the final athlete crosses the finish line, time will stop.
Time cap: 8 minutes.

EVENT 3 - WITH REMAINING TIME, PERFORM MAX REPETITIONS OF GYMNASTIC MOVEMENT OF:

INT/MIX - CHIN OVER BAR PULL UPS
FUN - RING ROWS

WB - ADV 30/20#, INT 20/14#, FUN 10#, MIX 20#
BOX JUMP OVERS - ADV/INT/MIX 24", FUN 20" STEP OVERS
DB - ADV 70/50#, INT 50/35#, FUN 25#, MIX 50#

WORKOUT DESCRIPTION: EVENT 1 - On 3-2-1..Go! Team will enter grid and perform 25 toes to bar (FUN division will perform hanging knee raises instead of T2B). Team will share rep scheme. Only one athlete may work at one time and may switch at any time. Once 25 T2B are completed, team will perform 35 WB shots to target, then 45 box jump overs (FUN may choose to perform box step overs), then 55 dumbbell snatches, then 45 BJO, then 35 WB shots, then 25 T2B, in that sequence. Time will stop once chipper is complete with final T2B. E1 score is fastest time to complete pyramid chipper. EVENT 2 - with remaining time on the clock, team will perform max effort on rig of: ADV Bar muscle ups, INT chin over bar pull ups, FUN ring rows. E2 score is team sum of perspective gymnastics bar movement perform within time cap.
Time cap: 12 minutes.

“ZIG-ZAG SPRINT”

For time:

ATHLETE 1: 100-YARD ZIG ZAG SPRINT
ATHLETE 2: 100-YARD ZIG ZAG SPRINT

WORKOUT DESCRIPTION: On 3-2-1..G0! A1 will perform 100-yard zig zag sprint. Once completed, A1 will tag in A2 and A2 will perform 100-yard zig zag sprint. Time will stop once A2 crosses finish line.. Score is the fastest time it takes team to finish 100-yard zig-zag sprint each. Exact zig zag run pattern will be revealed on day of event.
Time cap: 3 minutes.

FLOATER: “DOUBLE THE FUN”

EVENT 5: MAX CALORIES ROW
EVENT 6: MAX CALORIES BIKE

WORKOUT DESCRIPTION:E5 and E6 will be performed simultaneously. Athlete 1 will pre-start on Rower, while Athlete 2 will be on bike. On 3-2-1..Go! Both athletes will perform max effort calories on their respective apparatuses for a total of 6 minutes. At anytime, athletes may switch.
Two separate scores will be recorded: (1) Max CAL row (EVENT 5) and (2) Max CAL Bike (EVENT 6)
Time cap: 6 minutes

WORKOUT DESCRIPTION: On 3-2-1..Go! Entire team will enter grid and lift pre-load barbell and perform 5 thrusters. Athletes may switch at anytime. Only one athlete may work at one time. This pattern will continue with each preset loaded barbell with respected weight loads and rep scheme of 4 thrusters, 3 thrusters, 2 thrusters, then 1 thruster, with weight loads ascending. Once final barbell is successfully completed, time will stop once final athlete crosses finish line. Score is the fastest time to complete thruster ladder task. Mix division will share reps and perform weight loads that are the same for Men's Intermediate division.
