WHAT?

BARBELLAS is a 3-person women only, or 2-person Masters 40+ women only, functional fitness team competition for athletes of all skill levels.

We are excited to present our 2nd annual, LADIES ONLY, team competition event to the WAL series, in celebration of female strength and unity.  This is a great first event if you are new to CF or competing for the first time. If you are veteran crossfitter, this event is for YOU! You will be challenged, while at the same time have fun!   Grab a friend or 2 and build your POWER TEAM! Don’t miss out. Register early, this event will sell out fast.

Entry fee covers: Team entry fee includes, 4+ separate scored events,  exclusive event tank, sponsor goodies at check-in, access to a huge vendor village, and an opportunity to prove your fitness in front of family, friends, in the loudest and most encouraging crowd of Orange County with massive prize packs for podium teams! Each team who registers before 6/30 will receive a Team Name Plate courtesy of SignsRx.

4 DIVISIONS

One person on your team must be able to perform the following movements:

Advanced/RX: Able to perform all loads/ movements without modification: Chest to bar pull ups, Bar Muscle Ups, Toes to bar, Rope Climb, double-unders, Clean & Jerks 125#. Snatch 105#. Thruster 85#. Deadlift 175#.

Intermediate (3-person)/ Masters 40+ (2-person): Need to sometimes modify load/movements: Chin-Over bar pull ups, Toes to bar, Rope climb or rope climb progressions, double-unders, Clean & Jerks 85#. Snatch 75#. Thruster 65#. Deadlift 155#.

FUN: Beginner/ New to CF: Needs to modifty loads/movements: Chin-over bar jumping pull ups, Hanging Knee Ups, Rope climb progressions, single-unders, Clean & Jerks 65#. Snatch 45#. Thruster 55#. Deadlift 105#.

Workout 1 – “Annie Are You Ok?”

Event 1: 60/40 CAL row (time)

Event 2: with remaining time (chipper)
45/30 Thrusters
45/30 Power Cleans
45/30 Sumo Deadlift High Pull
45/30 Wall Ball shots
45/30 Partner lateral burpees over barbell

Barbell: Rx 95#, INT/ M40+ 65#, FUN 55#
Wall Ball: Rx 20#, INT/M40+ 14#, FUN 10#

Workout description: On 3-2-1….go! Team perform 60 Calorie row for time. Athletes may switch at anytime, with one athlete working at a time, except burpees. Masters 40+ will perform 40 calorie row. Once Calorie row is complete, with remaining time team will perform E2 chipper for time. Only one athlete may work at one time. Athletes may switch at anytime.  Team will share rep scheme of 45 reps (30 reps for Masters 40+).Elements must be completed in order before moving onto next element. 2 people must perform burpees together as a pair. Workout has 2 parts and will be scored separately. E1 – fastest time to complete 60/40 calorie row. E2 – fastest time to compete chipper. Time cap: 12 minutes.

Workout 2 – “Triple Play”

As many repetitions as possible for 2 minutes at each station:

Event 3: Max Calorie Bike (A1)

Event 4: Max Calorie SKI ERG (A2)

Event 5: Max Double Unders (A3) – Fun: single-unders

Workout Description: On 3-2-1..Go! Athletes will perform 2 minute max effort at each station, and will rotate every 2 minutes, until each athlete performs and completes all stations. M40+ will share 2 minutes time cap in Event 5 to perform max DUs. Only one athlete works at one-time. Score will be the sum total of all athletes per station. Each station will be scored separately. Time cap: 6 minutes.

Workout 3 – Event 6. “Diane”

3 rounds for time (Masters 40+ 2 RFT)

45 KB deadlifts Rx 96#, INT/M40+ 70#, FUN 53#
30 Handstand push ups (INT/ FUN wall walks 10)

Workout description: On 3-2-1..Go! A1 will enter grid and perform kettlebell deadlifts, with a KB in each hand. Team will share rep scheme, and can switch at anytime. Once 21 KB DLs are complete, team will then perform HS push ups (INT/FUN wall walks). INT/M40+/FUN divisions may choose as a team to perform HSPU or wall walks. This will continue with rep scheme as described above for a total of 3 rounds (2 rounds for Masters 40+). Once last HSPU, in round 3, is completed and athlete crosses finish line, time will stop. Score is fastest time to complete 3 rounds as a team. Time cap: 8 minutes.

Workout 4 – Event 7. “DOTTIR”

Rx Division/ Masters 40+

15 Bar Muscle ups (Masters 40+ Chin Over Bar pull ups)
21 deadlifts, 135#/105#
9 Bar MUs
15 hang cleans, 135#/105#
6 Bar MUs
9 shoulder to overhead, 135#/105#

INTERMEDIATE /FUN

21 chin-over bar pull ups (FUN ring rows)
21 Deadlifts, 105#/75#
15 pull ups
15 hang cleans, 105#/75#
9 pull ups
9 shoulder to OH, 105#/75#

Workout description: On 3-2-1..go! A1 will enter grid and perform Bar MUs. A1 may tag in teammate at anytime. Only one athlete may work and be in grid at one-time. Once first set of Bar MUs are completed, team performs 21 deadlifts, followed by second set of Bar MUs, followed by 15 hang cleans, followed by third set of Bar MUs, and then completing 9 shoulder to OH. INT and Masters 40+ will perform chin over bar pull ups in lieu of Bar MUs, while FUN will perform ring rows instead of pull ups.

Intermediate/Masters 40+ division may choose to perform Bar MUs (15-9-6) or chin-over bar pull ups (21-15-9), with respective rep scheme as above. Score will be fastest time to finish chipper. Time cap: 6 minutes
